Clubs

Battle of the Books
Coach: Jennifer Lewis
Elementary Battle of the Books is a competition for fourth and fifth graders who love to read. Up to 12 students from the club will be selected to represent our school at the county-wide competition. This competition consists of reading 16 state selected books. Each child on the team will read for comprehension in order to be able to answer questions about the books. This team requires a commitment of extensive time and effort. Students must be self driven and motivated.

BETA Club
Advisor: Kate Radermacher
Co-Advisors: Cynthia Gill, Desiree Hawks
Junior BETA club is an organization that seeks to promote academic achievement, character, service and leadership among fourth and fifth grade students. Students work together to discover their inner leader and how they can make an impact on the school and local community.

Chorus Club
Facilitator: Veronica Florit
All fourth and fifth grade students are invited to be a member of the Baldwin Chorus Club. This is an after school program. During the rehearsals, students will be preparing the repertory for the Winter and Spring Concert. Also, they will learn how to sing in different voice parts and will have the opportunity to continue developing their voices and singing skills.

Kiwanis K-Kids Club
Coach: Mikayla Carroll
K-Kids Club is a student-led service organization of elementary school students. The local Kiwanis Club of Hope Mills serves as the club sponsor. Members in this service organization are students who are interested in service to our school and the community. The objectives of K-Kids are as follow:
To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community.
To develop leadership potential.
To foster the development of a strong moral character.
To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.

Science Olympiad Team
Coach: Julia Smajdek
Science Olympiad is open to third, fourth, and fifth graders. It is a hands on exploration of science. At the end of the year, we will compete against other teams from Cumberland County Schools.
Pearls of Wisdom
Advisor: Shentara Dorsey
"Pearls of Wisdom" is a mentorship program for female students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. Our mission is to cultivate young ladies into young ladies of distinction who are well-equipped to handle what their tomorrow may bring. The program focuses on social-emotional skills as well as helpful life skills that will help our young ladies in the future. Pearls of Wisdom meets every third Tuesday of the month starting in October. The program is limited to 40 students.
