Medication

If your child is on medication that is to be taken during the school day, you will need to pick up a school medication form from the main office and have it filled out by a physician. School employees may not administer medication in any form (prescription and non-prescription medication) without a completed Physician’s School Medication form. All approved medications will be kept in the main office. ALL MEDICATION must be brought to school by a parent or guardian and logged in and counted out in the office. Students are not allowed to bring medication to and from school at any time. Please note: all medications must have a pharmaceutical label on them — even non-prescription medicines and must match the physicians form.

Please help us all stay healthy! If your child has a Fever (100 degrees F) (37.8o C or greater), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and/or other Stomach/GI Symptoms – your child needs to remain home. No student shall return to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine, even if they feel better.

All the appropriate Forms and Care Plans can be found under the Health Services Department at the Cumberland County Schools website.

Further information and forms are also available online at the following address: http://healthservices.ccs.k12.nc.us/protocol-for-administration-of-medication/
