Published by Wendy Bozeman on February 7, 2020

This is Bus Driver Appreciation Week, February 10-14, 2020. It’s a difficult job and we appreciate all you do to assure our students get home safely to and from school. Thank you for all you do!

Progress reports, library fine notices, and remediation letters went home today. Please call the school if you did not get one, and we will gladly provide one for you. We’ve had a large number of transfers, and we would like to welcome all our new families. If you are planning to transfer out of our school, please make sure to return all textbooks, library books, and other school materials. Each student should complete a checkout sheet on their last day.

Congratulations to the 2019-2020 Civic Oration contest winners are:
1st place: Keira L.
2nd place: Justice S.
3rd place: Jada M.
  • Tuesday, February 11- Today is the last chance to pay $5 for the Valentine’s dance (pay before homeroom ends at 7:40). Please remember there are no refunds, no exception. It’s an ALL DAY Chick-fil-a Spirit Day!! Our school will receive a percentage of sales from 6 am- 10 pm, open to close.  The PTO will have a Spirit table inside the Ramsey Street location from 4:30-8:00 pm. Students who sign-in will get a homework pass and be entered in a drawing, AND the homeroom with the highest attendance in each grade will receive a doughnut treat from the PTO! We can’t wait to see you there.
  • Wednesday, February 12- Spring sports practice begins. Please make sure to have proper athletic shoes and workout clothes for try-outs. Clothes must meet the same standard as PE uniforms, i.e. no tank tops, short shorts, crop tops, etc. Athletes with asthma need to bring their inhaler to tryouts!
  • Thursday, February 13-Valentine’s Day Dance is tonight from 6-8 pm. Drop-off is in the back of the school at 6:00 pm. To alleviate congestion, pick-up is at 8:00 pm in the back of the school for 7th and 8th graders and 6th graders will be picked up in the front of the school.
  • Friday, February 14- Happy Valentine’s Day! Please be reminded our students are not allowed to receive deliveries at school. Please remember exchanging gifts is not permitted because of the distraction it causes to learning.
