Thank you for your generosity and donations for our Thanksgiving / Holiday food drives and the Giving Tree. Friday, December 20 is the end of the 2nd 9 weeks and end of the 1st semester. Please make sure your child has turned in all their work by the teacher’s deadline to receive proper credit.

If you are moving or transferring over the holiday, please make sure to return all library books, workbooks, locker locks, and textbooks to the school to avoid any charges and to make the transfer of your records smooth and easy.

Pine Forest Middle Future Business Leaders of America club winners and participants at the Southeast Region Competitive Events at Fayetteville Technical Community College on Friday, December 6th.  Callie Oberrender won 1st place for the Elevator Speech, Emma Farson won 2nd place for Business Math & Financial and Literacy, Kenneth VanWy won 2nd place for Public Speaking, Ethan Clark won 3rd place for Career Exploration. Other participants were Carlee Callahan, Demetrianna Fitzgerald, and Megan Lane.  We were so proud of them!

  • Tuesday, December 17- 7th grade PBIS celebration. BB away @ SVMS and Wrestling home vs. SVMS. The orchestra Butter Braids will be delivered today, Tuesday (Dec. 17).  Orchestra Students need to pick them up between 2:30–5:30 in the PFMS Band Room.  These are yeast baked desserts that arrive frozen.  There is a three hour window in which the Braids must be picked up.  IF YOU DO NOT PICK THEM UP BY 5:30, THEY WILL BEGIN TO RISE.  Once they rise, they must be baked.   Please make sure to pick up your Braids on Tuesday.  Thank you for your support.
  • Wednesday, December 18- 6th grade PBIS celebration. We will conduct a “locker clean out” today. You may want to check your child’s backpack to see what surprises they bring home!
  • Thursday, December 19- 8th grade PBIS celebration.
  • Friday, December 20- is a 2-hour early release day. Car riders should make arrangements to be picked up by 12:40 pm.
  • The school will be closed December 23rd – January 7th for winter break. The faculty and staff at Pine Forest Middle would like to wish you and your families safe travels and a restful holiday!
  • School will resume Wednesday, January 8th. Please remember, ALL library books are due January 8th when we return. Report cards will go home Friday, January 10th!

Upcoming events and additional thoughts:

    • Angels Needed: We need volunteers!  Volunteers with the School Angels Watch can assist the schools for as little as 30 minutes and/or up to the entire day. Volunteers will be required to pass a background check. Training will be provided by the Safety and Security office. Volunteers can sign up for the program by visiting: http://schoolwatch.ccs.k12.nc.us/ and clicking on the “Background checks” link. 
    • Get alerts and current school and prime time closings when we have inclement weather with the Cumberland County Schools App. Please download the CCS App to your devices to be the first to know!
